RIP Roberta di Camerino

I was sad to learn of handbag designer Roberta di Camerino's death. While editing Reflection of a Man, I came across so many super stylish photos of her and her husband shot in the late 50s by my grandfather. Above are 2 of my favorites. The first, di Camerino (at right) with my aunt & grandmother on the way to Torcello, Italy. The second Guido di Camerino poses on Atilla the Hun's throne in Torcello, Italy. RIP Roberta di Camerino.

Andy Hanson + Lightnin' Hopkins

Here is a cool opportunity to buy an amazing portrait by photographer Andy Hanson and support an effort to get a Lightnin' Hopkins Marker placed in Houston. The portrait of Lightnin' Hopkins was made in 1959 in a bedroom that Hopkins rented from a private shotgun home just off Dowling Street in Houston’s Third Ward. I spent the afternoon helping my buddy Randy Eli Grothe out with his first Texas Multimedia Workshop. Evans, Robert, Nathan, Matt and I worked with a group of students and shot the Cinco de Mayo parade on Jefferson Ave. Above are my iPhone photos .
