I was sad to read that Kenneth Noland passed away last week. I met the color field painter in his studio in Port Clyde, Maine 4 summers ago. It was inspiring being surrounded by his paintings. His precision and attention to space really appeals to me. Read more here.

Glad you like the choice. It was between that one or one of the Earthen Bound paintings from the 60s.
thanks for posting his picture, I've been looking for one, I met him when he moved from Vt. to Maine, I oversee the rigging and transport of his huge sculptures, he was gracious and it's nice seeing him...
