Every once in a while I receive a group email from my long time internet photo friend Andrew Paynter . He includes his latest and greatest. It's always inspiring and exciting to see what he is up to and what camera he is shooting with these days. Paynter introduced me to the beautiful Olympus Half Frame and continues to inspire me to keep shooting film! Check his photos above and see more on his website.

Check the current issue of D Home to see V.O.D. owner Jackie Bolin's list of favorite things. It can be difficult photographing friends, but Jackie's simple apartment and style made for a very fun, creative shoot.

Elvis Perkins. May 2009. Dallas, Texas © Allison V. SmithElvis Perkins rolled through Dallas today as part of his two month tour. I caught his short set at Good Records and asked afterwards if I could photograph him. If you like pretty & complicated, well written songs, Elvis's new album is for you. Bonus: my cousin Adam Raymont did the lettering on the album. Thanks to cousin Sarah for the introduction. I'm cranking up Doomsday.

A few months back, I photographed Margaret Meehan and her solo show "on sugar mountain. up shit creek" at RoadAgent. Recently she released a catalog with these photos and a thoughtful essay by Christina Rees. I received mine in the mail today (yeah). You can pick up your copy at The Public Trust or at Domy in Austin and Houston. Also check out her blog!

I photographed Creede Williams yesterday for his upcoming album which I was lucky enough to get a sneak preview of. Creede had a real vision for what he wanted. It was a fun creative process to be a part of.
