David Carradine photography in 2004. Dallas, Texas © Allison V. Smith

I photographed David Carradine for the DMN in 2004. I did not know who he was but was star struck by his bad-assness by the end of the shoot. Carradine redefined cool and flattered me with his charm. RIP David Carradine.

He reeks of bad-assness, doesn't he?!?! To be a 72 year old bad-ass, man, he should have rode it out! I guess we'll never know. So unfortunate...

Nice photo - be uuber hot in sepia, I bet *wink*

It's hard for me to imagine anyone "not having known" who he was, when I grew up anticipating every episode of "Kung Fu". Even harder for me to imagine he's gone. ( R.I.P David Carradine ) Wonderful capture of him, cherish the memory! Have a wonderful evening. xo~

That's amazing! First of all I did not know he had passed. But that picture is just phenomenal. I'm so happy to hear he was just as great as I had hoped!

Great photo of Carradine. I photographed him in his trailer during a break from a movie he was shooting in Austin. Every time the reporter asked him a question he would take a swig from his flask before answering. Awesome guy.

that's a super photo! and what a privilege to be able to meet him. i'm sure it made for an interesting shoot. it's really too bad that he had to go out the way he did... but the whole thing is pretty mysterious so who knows... maybe it IS what he wanted.
