san jose hotel. may 2008. austin, texas. ©allison v. smith
One of my favorite assignments this year was shooting details of the San Jose Hotel in Austin for their website and hotel postcards . The site is finally up and it's pretty rad! They made my photos into 8mm film footage. There's a prize for whoever finds Bucks on the site. Check it out the cool new site designed by the talented boys at Coloring Book Studio here.

do you know how they achieved that 8mm look from your stills? is that a final cut filter or something in the flash code?

not sure. But however they did it, I am impressed!

i was impressed with how well it married to the actual 8mm film footage they had.

Ah, Bucks is sitting on the balcony. I see that someone has already found Bucks. You did a wonderful job on these photos for Hotel San Jose.
