When I was 19 a photo teacher asked the class if we were willing to die for photography. However many years later I am still not sure what my answer is. Dying for your passion. At first it sounds romantic, but when it comes down to it it is frightening. I can't stop thinking about Steve Irwin. I can't stop thinking about Luis Jimenez. I photographed Steve and his wife Terri at the Dallas Aquarium in 2002 when he was promoting his movie The crocodile Hunter. He was perfectly pleasant. Polite, funny and commanding.Despite the cool factor of the crocodile shadow on the left side of the frame, I never liked my shot. Terri is slightly out of focus in this shot and I hated MY flash reflected above her head. RIP steve irwin.
